These terms govern your use of thebackyardvault.com and anything you buy from it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

Using the site
You may read, print and use our free content for your own personal, non-commercial projects. You may not republish, resell, scrape or bulk-copy our content, use it to train a machine learning model, or present it as your own.
You agree not to interfere with the site, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, or use it for anything unlawful.
Digital products
When you buy a plan, guide or other download, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:
- Download and print it for your own use.
- Build the project it describes, on property you own or occupy.
- Build the project once, for a client or as a paid job, unless the product page grants broader commercial rights.
You may not resell, share, redistribute, republish or upload the file anywhere, include it in another product, or remove any notice from it. The plan remains our intellectual property. Buying it buys you a licence, not ownership.
Prices, orders and delivery
Prices are in US dollars. We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order already placed. Digital products are delivered by download link after payment. If a download does not reach you, email us and we will fix it.
Refunds are covered by our Digital Product Refund Policy.
Accuracy and the nature of our content
We work hard to get numbers right, and we still expect to be wrong sometimes. Calculators return estimates, prices go stale, products change, and codes differ everywhere. Nothing on this site is professional design, engineering, electrical or construction advice. Read the DIY Safety and Planning Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
Links to other sites
We link to retailers, manufacturers and other resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products or policies. Some links earn us a commission, as set out in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The site and its content are provided on an as is and as available basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Backyard Vault will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss, or for any loss, damage or injury arising from your use of the site, our calculators, our plans or any project you undertake. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the product in question.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Your content
If you send us a comment, photo or suggestion, you keep ownership of it and give us permission to use it on the site with credit. Do not send us anything you do not have the right to share.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the date above shows when. We may suspend access to the site or to a customer account that breaches these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rights you have where you live.
